Can Edwards Win?
Can Rudy Win?
Can McCain Win?
Can Obama Win?
Can Hillary Clinton Win?

Can she? Maybe. Will she? No. At this early stage of the race I don’t think Hillary can win the Presidency. She can definitely win the Democratic primary but that won’t be a cakewalk either. Hillary has a problem much as John Kerry did in 2004. She is seen as Northeastern liberal. Almost 60 percent of people asked in a recent Rasmussen Reports poll consider Senator Clinton to be liberal. Like Kerry, I think Clinton will have a problem overcoming this across much of the country.

Hillary Clinton is a very polarizing figure. Almost everybody already has some opinion of her and the results aren’t good. Only 49% view her favorably while 48% view her unfavorably. She is ahead in the polls for the Democratic nomination right now only because everyone knows who she is. Senator Clinton has a ton of work to do if she is going to keep her numbers where they are today.

Even if Clinton wins the Democratic nomination she will have a tough time winning the Presidency. While we are still 22 months away for the election, polls for Senator Clinton against various Republicans aren’t very good. In the time when President Bush’s popularity is at an all time low and the Democrats made large gains nationwide in the 2006 Elections, Clinton is still polling behind both John McCain and Rudy Giuliani and is only a few points ahead of Mitt Romney who is still largely unknown. If Hillary isn’t winning now can she win when President Bush and Iraq are much less important issues? I don’t see it happening.
