#1

Barack Obama

Barack Obama really needed to win Iowa and did by a comfortable margin. His poll numbers have bounced in New Hampshire and even leads Hillary by double digits in some of them. If he can win New Hampshire he will be in great shape. If he doesn't he will need to win South Carolina.

#2

Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton should have skipped Iowa altogether. Coming in third really hurts her. She is still well out in front in all of the national polls but Obama will be gaining ground quickly. She badly needs to win New Hampshire otherwise her lead in the 20+ states that with have primaries on Feb. 5th will likely be completely gone.

#3

John Edwards

John Edwards needed to win Iowa. He did get second but just barely. It's not going to be enough. Unless Edwards can outlast Hillary and make it a two man race with Obama which is pretty unlikely he is probably done. Edwards could still play a role with an endorsement. An Edwards endorsement of Obama would likely decide the race.

#4

Bill Richardson

Bill Richardson never got very far in Iowa getting just 2 percent. I don't see any real way he has a chance at this point. He is definitely a possible Vice Presidential candidate.
