Career before entering politics: Southern Baptist Minister, President of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention from 1989-91, Author.

Political Experience: GOP Candidate for U.S. Senate in Arkansas in 1992, Lt. Governor of Arkansas from 1993-1996, Governor of Arkansas from 1996-2007, Chairman of National Governors Association from 2005-06.
