2008 Senate Races
In 2008 there will be 33 U.S. Senate seats up for election barring any deaths or resignations before then. If a vacancy happens to occur there is a possiblity for additional open seats. There will be elections for 21 Republican held seats and 12 Democratic held seats.
The following map shows the states that will have a U.S. Senate seat up for election in 2008. Red shows Republican seats, pink shows Republican seats where incumbent is retiring and blue shows Democratic seats.

Comedian and liberal talk radio host Al Franken is planning to a run as a Democrat for Minnesota's U.S. Senate in 2008 against incumbent Republican Senator Norm Coleman.
